Every time I shut my computer down or restart it , a blue screen shows up and it says :
" A problem has been detected and Windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer " and than it restarts my computer which takes longer than usual when I put the computer log - in password .

I have a Windows 7 Enterprise , 32-bit .
I have this computer for almost year and a half and it happened about 2-3 times during this time but now it happens every single time I shut my computer down or restart it .
I updated the computer three days ago but it keeps happening since then .

Please help me ! I'm really nervous . ):

I have tried startup repair and it doesn't work
i tried to do system restore and an error thing pops up telling to me close my antivirus and try system restore again

I can't go in to safe mode and when i try it loads through the sys files but stops and the last loaded sys file was classpnp.sys

i know it was some sort of virus because for i had shut it down i was hearing music just starting up randomly, sounded like music from commercials. one time it was indian music.

is there any way i can fix this?/

PS I found my windows 7 cd if that helps??

ok i found something that cleared the problem but now everything has changed
i disabled the auto restart and it is a blue screen that says

a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
etc
etc
check for viruses on your computer (i have no idea how if i can't boot safe mode) remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers etc etc

I built my first computer, and I have Windows 98 installed
on it, and I am trying to upgrade to XP. I get far enough
into the installation where you have to restart your
computer for the first time. When I do it gets to the
Windows XP loading screen for a second, but then swiches
to this blue screen of death. It says:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time youve seen this stop error
screen restart your computer. If this screen appears again
follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly
installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check
your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and
terminated. Run CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive
corruption and then restart your computer.

Well thats what it says. Its running Windows 98 fine, so
does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

I have a Sony VAIO with Windows 7 pre-installed for more than a year. Completely random (actually - every 10 mins or so) the computer will freeze, brings up a blue screen stating that "A problem has been detected and your computer has been shut down to prevent damage". This stays on for only a second then the screen goes black. Five seconds later I get "Operating System Not Found". The only way I can use the computer again is to hold the power button down, then turn it back on again.

Kindly help...

If you go to -Modemhelp.com - there you can track down
error codes of all types to help you for any future
probs, however go to Microsoft help and follow links for
your specific problem is the best place for a fix. Billy
